Campus Recreation
The mission of Campus Recreation is to educate, serve, and promote wellness at The University of Arizona. The department offers a diverse scope of programs with numerous facilities and sports fields, providing over 50 group fitness classes weekly during the fall and spring semesters, personal training and more. Activity classes cater to a wide variety of interests ranging from dance, martial arts to health and safety. Outdoor Adventures (OA) includes hiking, canoeing, and more. Arizona Intramurals are designed to create a sense of community through sports. Special programs include extramural sports and other events. Sport Clubs are student-run organizations with over 40 recognized sport related clubs. The Challenge Program Ropes Course is a "Hands-on Adventure in Teambuilding."
We will be expanding the Student Recreation Center with construction beginning December 2007. It will include an expansive weight room (30,000 sq. ft.), MAC Gymnasium, sand volleyball courts and expanded OA. Project completion date is tentatively scheduled for August, 2009.
