Residence Life

Living on campus enables students to be at the heart of the "Wildcat Experience." Residence Life offers campus housing to more than 5,800 undergraduates in 21 residence halls and to more than 300 graduate and professional students in an apartment complex on campus. Students find it easer to get involved in academic, social and cultural activities and they appreciate easy access to classrooms, libraries, Student Unions, and the Recreation Center.

More than 80% of the undergraduate students who live on campus are freshmen. National studies show that living on campus, especially during the first year of college, tends to improve a student's chance of academic success, retention, and timely graduation. Actually, for 2006 – The one-year retention rate for UA students living on campus was 84.9% versus 77.2% for students who lived off campus during their first year.
