Student Services Fee
The Student Services Fee allocates approximately $2.5 million each year to departments in the Student Affairs division.
Students and staff from organizations as far-reaching as Campus Recreation, ASUA student government, the Arizona Student Unions, the Center for Student Involvement and Leadership (CSIL), Graduate & Professional Student Council, Campus Health, every recognized UA club, the Disability Resource Center, the Office of Student Financial Aid and many others can apply for fee money to enhance programs that benefit students.
To date, the SS Fee has funded a broad variety of expanded services and programs for UA students: the popular Savvy Student Discount, providing reduced cost meals for students on Wednesdays; an expanded SafeRide program; greater financial aid; longer hours of operation in the Student Union; Student Advocates in the Dean of Students Office. Countless others have also been funded by the Student Services Fee.
UA students themselves help determine where funds are directed, via comprehensive surveys issued each year. The Student Services Fee Advisory Board (SSFAB) recommends funding priorities. University oversight of the Board is provided through the office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, and procedures follow established University business procedures and policies.
